Classic Horror Restorations
Three classic horror films have received massive restorations and theatrical re-releases this fall.
First up is the 4K restoration of Suspiria that has been playing festivals and revival houses. This comes to us from the fine folks at Synapse who, led by Don May Jr., have gone above and beyond their usual great work with this. They have a page detailing where you can find the film playing, which you can access here.
Next there is the Cohen Media release of The Old Dark House (which also hits blu ray next week). Locally it plays the Siskel Center next week and if you are a fan of the 1930s era of Boris Karloff horror films this is a must see.
Last and by no means least, is the George A. Romero classic Night of the Living Dead, restored by Janus Films and approved by the director himself before his passing earlier this year. Like Suspiria, this one is touring the nation and is absolutely worth seeing on the biggest screen you can find.
With these three classics getting this manner of respect, I have to wonder what genre films would you like to see in this manner? Let us know in the comments or by emailing us.
